Perennials have long been a staple part of virtually every landscape. Whether it’s commercial or residential, public or private, landscapers have their tried and true classics for every situation. Commercial office building, grocery store parking lot, or home a garden. It doesn’t matter. We often see many of the same plants.
And why not? They ARE tried and true and we know exactly how they are going to perform because they have been used for years, if not decades. From this track record many perennials have developed a strong name recognition.
Advancements in breeding have led to tremendous improvements in many classes of perennials. Improvements in growth habit, disease resistance, flower color and duration of flowering. There is a lot of NEW for landscapers to choose from but they often don’t.
Why not?? Is it that you’re unsure of the performance? Are there too many choices to make a decision? Is it that you feel like you’re risking your reputation if something does not perform how you expect?
